With a population of 32 million and located on the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, Chongqing is Southwest China's biggest industrial and commercial centre, communication hub and inland port. The plaza is located at the south end of Yangtze River Bridge, which connects the main CBD Jiefangbei. It is next to the city's Exhibition Centre and Nanping Commercial Centre. Yangtze River International Plaza is 25 km away from the airport and will be a short 10-minute walk from Metro Line 3, which is under construction and will be operational in 2011.
