The Dusseldorf Stadttor Medienhafen Centre is on the 17th floor of an award-winning building in the city's Media Harbour (Medienhafen). The Medienhafen project aims to redevelop Dusseldorf's industrial harbour into a thriving cultural and media quarter. The city is already home to 400 advertising agencies, including the biggest three in Germany. Medienhafen has attracted world-class architects to create residential and retail as well as office space. Stadttor 1 was named the best office building in the international MIPIM real estate awards in 1998, shortly after its completion. The centre enjoys stunning views over the River Rhine and the 15-hectare harbour development site, featuring listed historic buildings as well as many shops, restaurants and other facilities. Medienhafen is also within easy reach of the city centre, and public transport and motorway connections.
