The Rio de Janeiro Barra da Tijuca Centre is in an affluent neighbourhood south west of the city which hosted the 1992 United Nations Earth Summit and will be the venue for many 2016 Olympic Games events, including at the massive Riocentro convention centre. The area is a mix of residential and business buildings, including 'eco condominiums' with environmental features. Brazil's main TV studios are here, and several university campuses. The Rio de Janeiro Barra da Tijuca Center is on the third floor of a striking glass and metal building.The center features hi-tech security systems including access control and fire detection, as well as CCTV and covered parking. There are expressways and bus routes connecting Barra da Tijuca to the international airport and downtown Rio de Janeiro.
