The north side of Nakano station has changed in recent years, but Sunplaza still serves as the prime landmark of Nakano and its name is known throughout Japan. This office space is located on the 9th floor of Sunplaza. Nakano is only a 5 minute train ride from Shinjuku, with direct access to/from Tokyo station and Otemachi station which makes it suitable for commute and business. After the police academy/university premises were redeveloped into Nakano Central Park (park/business complex) in 2012, some well-known corporations relocated to Nakano, making the area more business-oriented.  Nakano is in fact closer to Shinjuku compared to the neighbouring “office districts” of west Shinjuku. Because of its real proximity to Shinjuku, companies are starting up and setting up branches in Nakano.
